María Pérez Escalá and Anne von Petersdorff met in 2011 when they enrolled in the workshop “The construction of documentary in the audiovisual field” at the prestigious International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Banos in Havana, Cuba. In this context they directed their first short film together, “Cine Encanto”. They are members of the International Documentary Filmmaking Network Bucanero Fuerte Films, which consists of filmmakers from Brazil, Colombia , Chile, Spain, Egypt, the Netherlands and Germany and whose debut documentary “Project18”, has participated in various international festivals. In 2014 they started their documentary project, “Wanderlust, foreign bodies in transit”.

María Pérez Escala

María Pérez Escalá is a lecturer in the Audiovisual Arts Centre (Realización y Lenguaje Audiovisual) of the National University of La Plata (UNLP) and works as a freelance photographer and independent filmmaker. She was selected to direct one of the ten musical episodes that where produced by the Cultural Institute of the province of Buenos Aires and Sonido Ambiente. She received her degree in audiovisual Art at the National University of La Plata (UNLP) where she specialized in the documentary field, focusing on the works of Jose Luis Guerin, Patricio Guzmán, Miguel Mirra and Cristian Pauls and Marta Andreu. She also participated in the workshop “The construction of documentary in the audiovisual field” at the prestigious International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Banos in Havana, Cuba.

Anne Von Petersdorff

Director / Producer

Anne von Petersdorff is a PhD candidate at Michigan State University, USA. She completed her Bachelor in International Tourism and Leisure with a specialization in Strategic Business Management (NHVT Breda, Netherlands and Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium) and a Master in Culture-Language-Media (University of Flensburg, Germany). During her Bachelor and Master she also studied in Mexico and participated in the workshop “The construction of documentary in the audiovisual field” at the prestigious International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Banos in Havana, Cuba. She worked as a production assistant and post production supervisor for TV commercials in Hamburg, Germany and Milan, Italy. She also worked on the production of “Deutschland 09” and as a line producer for the short film “The Last Fare”.

Juliana

Producer

Juliana Schwindt is an audiovisual communicator who graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the UNLP (National University of La Plata). She has worked as a director and producer for a variety of films. She has directed the short films “Sueños Intermodales”, “Elena en el Agua”, “Respeto”, “Todas hieren, una mata”, “Siesta” and “En Hebras”. As a producer she has worked on feature films “Tejen” and “Arriba quemando el sol” (Mas Ruido Cine Digital) and on the short films “Breve Historia en el Planeta” and “Hesperidina Express” (Tangram Producciones). Together with Marianela Siccardi they founded the production company Cine a Través.

Production Assistant

Marianela Díaz Román started Audiovisual Communication studies at National University of La Plata in the year 2000. She graduated as Audiovisual Communicator in 2005. She worked in cinema productions and journalistic pieces and for cable TV programs in La Plata. At the moment she works as an independent audiovisual producer.
